As supporters, drivers and enablers of new IT ideas, our fields of work are as diverse as we ourselves. Software developers, data engineers and requirements engineers, consultants and project managers, system administrators, IT architects and support – we all work together to develop solutions that simply delight customers and employees.
Of course, there are also everyday tasks at dmTECH. But there is also a lot of room for innovation. For example, in the area of merchandise management and distribution centers when it comes to logistical challenges. And not just here. The dm online shop and the My dm app were created here and are continually being developed further at dmTECH - as are the online shops in all dm countries. Customer experience is also our focus when it comes to digital services such as express pickup or product suggestions.
What will our cash register systems of the future look like? We're thinking about that too. As well as which systems and apps we can use to support our colleagues even better. IT infrastructure, data centers, hardware in the markets and for every employee form the basis for our work. Of course, this also includes the right infrastructure for the digital workplace. Because mobile working has been our practice for over 20 years. The fact that we can work together flexibly and regardless of location at any time has been particularly confirmed during the pandemic.
Efficient work that suits us and makes us quick and able to act. Do you prefer Scrum or Kanban? Depends on. In any case, we use agile methods because they allow us to make focused progress as a team. For us, making mistakes is part of the process. Because we learn from them and they are an opportunity for us to try out new things and create innovations.
dm-drogerie markt is the most popular national drugstore in Germany. We're not saying that, it's the result of the independent, annual consumer survey “Customer Monitor”. With around 43,000 employees and more than 2,000 dm stores in which more than 1.7 million people shop every day, we are also Germany's highest-selling drugstore with around 9 billion euros. But we are also there for people outside of Germany: in Austria and Italy as well as in eleven Southeast European countries. Behind this is a working group with a total of over 66,000 employees and more than 3,800 dm stores across Europe.
